The regular clean

Steam extraction that pulls the soil out instead of pushing it back in

Hot water carrying the soil out of the pile, a complimentary deodorizer included, and a free estimate before anything starts. Locally owned and family operated in the Montgomery area since 1991.

Chapter 01

What steam extraction actually removes, and why rented machines leave the soil behind

Steam extraction pushes hot water into the pile under pressure, breaks down the oils and ground-in soil holding onto each fibre, then pulls all of it straight back out on the same pass. The soil never gets a chance to resettle, because the water carrying it is gone before it can dry.

A rented machine runs the same idea on a fraction of the vacuum lift. It lays water and detergent into the carpet just fine, it just cannot pull enough of it back out. What is left behind dries into a sticky residue that grabs new dirt out of the air, which is why a carpet cleaned with a rented machine two weeks ago can already look worse than it did before.

Traffic-lane greying: why hallways and doorways go first and how they are pre-treated

Walk your own hallway and compare it to the carpet tucked under a chair nobody moves. The hallway is greyer, and that grey is soil ground down into the pile by footsteps, sharp-edged enough to cut at the fibre itself over time. Doorways and stair landings go the same way first, because that is where the most feet cross in the smallest space.

Those lanes get pre-treated before the wand ever reaches them: a cleaning solution worked into the fibre and given time to sit, so the embedded soil is already breaking loose before extraction starts. Extraction then makes extra passes over just that strip. Skip the pre-treatment and a traffic lane looks marginally cleaner for a week, then greys straight back.

Chapter 03

The complimentary deodorizer, and what it is doing after the water leaves

The deodorizer that comes with every clean is not a fragrance sprayed on top to cover a smell. It goes down while the carpet is still slightly damp, right after extraction, so it can work into the same fibres the water just came out of and address whatever is actually causing the odour there.

It is included at no extra charge on every carpet clean we do, not sold as an add-on, because a clean that still smells like the thing it just removed is not actually finished.

Dry time, and what to do with furniture and pets that evening

Extraction pulls out as much water as the equipment can lift, so a cleaned carpet is damp rather than soaked, and it dries faster with air moving across it. Open the windows or run the air conditioning if the weather allows it, and keep foot traffic light until the pile feels dry all the way through, not just dry on the surface.

Furniture legs are worth protecting rather than set straight back down: a damp carpet can pick up colour or a rust ring from a metal leg. Small plastic tabs or a folded square of foil under each leg for the evening solve it. Keep pets off the carpet until it is dry for the same reason, wet fibre picks up paw prints and tracks water onto anything dry nearby.
